THE TEAM:
The Olswang Construction Team is headed by David Weare and has close working relationships with key members of the construction industry including other professionals, contractors, investors and developers. The team is recognised for its pragmatic and commercial approach to drafting and negotiation. In addition the team advises clients on all manner of contentious issues.

Delancey - We acted for Delancey in connection with the redevelopment of 39-40 and 41-42 Portman Square, a mixed use development in Central London. We are currently acting for Delancey on several hotel development schemes.

Heron International - We are acting for a number of high profile developments on behalf of Heron.
•
Legal and General - We are acting for Legal and General in a range of funded projects.
•
New Star - We are advising in relation to claims against a landlord and architect concerning certain of its Central London property interests.
•
UBS- We acted in connection with the refurbishment of 85 Fleet Street and 12 Salisbury Square to provide new office accommodation.
The Construction Team consists of two partners, five associates and a trainee. The team sits within the wider Real Estate Group which also includes specialists in tax, finance, planning, real 5056853-1 2
estate litigation and corporate real estate.

THE ROLE:
We currently have an opportunity for a mid-level locum associate, based in our London office, to start as soon as possible on a fixed-term contract for 3 months. Although the team covers a mix of non-contentious and contentious work, this particular role will have a strong focus on contentious construction. This vacancy has arisen due to a need for temporary additional support.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
•
Experience gained in contentious construction law from a highly ranked practice or team. Candidates should have significant drafting and negotiation skills and experience and be comfortable taking the lead on transactions.
•
Excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style. Effective team player - able to work effectively in an established, close-knit team.
•
Desire to be proactively involved in business development and marketing. Ability to handle client contact from the outset. A commercial and pragmatic outlook.
•
Excellent academic record with a minimum of a 2.1 gained at degree level (or equivalent).
