Brief
We are currently looking to recruit a lawyer specialising in IT Project Disputes work to join our Outsourcing, Technology and Commercial Group. The ideal candidate will have at least three years post qualification experience and be based in our London office.
Background
Pinsent Masons has one of the leading and most established outsourcing, technology & commercial law practices in the UK. With a team of 33 partners and 103 additional fee-earners, across a network of offices nationwide and overseas, our substantial practice provides both commercial and contentious services. Pinsent Masons provides a full range of advice and guidance, including in relation to: outsourcing, e-business, IT product and services contracts, commercial contracts, Freedom of Information, intellectual property, technology, IT and telecoms disputes, data protection and privacy and media.
Our dedicated IT disputes team works with IT and telecoms suppliers and users in the resolution of IT and telecoms issues in both the public and private sectors. Our team has specialised in this sector for 20 years and is consistently praised by both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for its strengths in this area, with the team having been involved in some of the most significant cases to affect the industry in recent years.
We support clients encountering difficulties in implementation, integration and large service contracts such as outsourcing and system integration contracts. We frequently assist clients in rectifying "run-away" projects and our project support services help clients identify and control risk during projects, thereby minimising the occurrence of project failure and costly disputes. The IT disputes team works closely with our commercial IT team, offering a co-ordinated approach which often results in the effective re-negotiation of problem contracts, after we have helped the client identify matters to improve its negotiating position.
For irrecoverable projects we provide comprehensive dispute resolution services and have significant experience of all forms of dispute resolution, including mediation, expert determination, early neutral evaluation, arbitration and litigation proceedings. We are experienced in dealing with document intensive and technically complex project disputes and associated project management methodologies.
In addition, we have a substantial IP practice advising on the protection, enforcement and exploitation of all aspects of IP.
