To manage and develop the property law offering in accordance with the firm’s business objectives and to raise the profile of the team and the firm externally.
1. To effectively manage small team ensuring that hours and fee targets are met
2. Supervise lawyers and provide advice and assistance as necessary
3. Attend and participate in management meetings
4. Consider and analyse team performance indicators
5. Seek/identify new business development opportunities and promote firm/department
6. Oversee implementation of departmental business plan and associated initiatives
7. Provide legal information and update(s) to team members and identify department’s training needs
8. Ensure departmental website news remains current and write articles
9. Attain personal and departmental fees/billable hours targets
10. Bill promptly and efficiently in accordance with the firm’s procedures and obtain monies on account in private client matters as appropriate
11. Comply with Fisher Meredith’s office rules and procedures as set out in the office manual and departmental manuals
12. Maintain client’s file in accordance with SQM standards and Lexcel
13. Assist in provision of internal/external seminars
• Have good experience of managing a complex residential and commercial caseload
• Be able to manage and nurture a small team of lawyers
• Demonstrate high levels of personal motivation and the necessary business development skills to cement the firm’s reputation in the property market
• A high standard of knowledge of law relating to property, conveyancing and Land Registry procedure
• General knowledge of general commercial law, wills and probate would be advantageous
• Proficient IT skills; including MS Word, time-recording and accounting software and digital dictation
