We are looking to recruit a number of Assistant Legal Advisers and Legal Advisers into the Insurance Practice Group in Preston.

One Assistant Legal Adviser will be required to work in the Motor Practice Area in the Technical team. This role will consist of supporting the team with their cases and duties will include obtaining and reviewing records, assisting and preparing for hearings and helping to progress cases, under supervision, to an effective and satisfactory conclusion for clients whilst providing and maintaining management information under the terms of the client service level agreement.

We also require a mix of three Assistant Legal Advisers / Legal Advisers to join the Motor Practice Area to work in the Volume team. This work will vary from small claims to fast track and will include pre-litigation and litigation.

Ideally candidates will have some experience of legal work in either Claimant or Defendant.

Main Duties:

  1. Action all cases in line with practice group/client service standards and protocols.
  2. Use of the Case Management system and / or use of standard documentation wherever appropriate to maximise cost efficiency.
  3. Proactively settle/assist in the settlement of cases to the satisfaction of the client whilst further developing legal technical knowledge.
  4. Analyse risk and develop sound judgement to justify decisions in the management of cases.
  5. Prioritise work efficiently and effectively to ensure client service level agreements and deadlines are met.
  6. Understand the role in the context of the practice group and proactively seek to increase contribution via the allocation of work.
  7. Work flexibly in adjusting to changes in priority of workload as dictated by the practice group.
