Paralegal - Clinical Negligence

An excellent opportunity for an LPC qualified individual to gain experience in a well-established clinical negligence department. Running your own caseload, you will be responsible for dealing with issues up to the point of issuing proceedings, and assisting fee earners within the department.

Duties/responsibilities
• Under the supervision of a case Supervisor you will be responsible for your own caseload of around 60 cases up until the point of issuing proceedings.
• As a member of the clinical negligence team you will participate in any administration required through liasing with the firms Health Record Analysts.
• To participate in weekly team meetings.
• When it is necessary you will be required to assist other fee earners within the department with issues on their cases.

• Excellent communication skills (must be able to deal with difficult and upset clients)
• IT literate
• Be able to work as part of a team
• Organised

Experience Required:
Essential
• Experience of dealing with difficult clients, and an ability to work to tight deadlines is also essential.
• Good legal knowledge is essential including a solid knowledge of litigation and clinical negligence limitation dates.
• Able to demonstrate can deal with difficult clients
• Used to working to tight deadlines
Desirable
• Previously managed own caseload
• Medical Background in nursing, dentistry or other relevant experience

Education Required:
It would be advantageous to have completed the LPC and have studied the Clinical Negligence elective.
