Herbert Smith Beijing is located in the Beijing Yintai Center at the heart of the Chaoyang District complex. The historic Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Heaven Temple are within fifteen minutes drive.
Practice area/ Department
The Beijing office works closely with our Hong Kong and Shanghai offices to service the needs of our clients in China – international corporations active in the country as well as PRC private and state owned enterprises.
The office has strong relationships with central government authorities and state-owned enterprises, it also monitors the status of China’s increasing trade agreements with leading nations, and its membership of the WTO
The role:

What we are looking for:
2-3 years post PRC qualification experience in corporate, M&A, equity capital markets;
Qualified in the PRC or equivalent;
Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin.
Work based competencies
We would expect the successful candidate to have a minimum of 2 years experience in private practise but would consider those with less or more experience providing they meet the required competencies;

· Legal ability - detailed grasp of complex legal concepts, excellent drafting skills, ability to see issues from a commercial perspective and able to communicate complex legal advice to clients effectively
