Energy Solicitor - Power Sector - On Application - London
CMS Cameron McKenna
Role & Requirements
We are looking for a solicitor to join our expanding Energy group. The role will require you to be part of the Energy team principally supporting the power practice based in London. Your main focus will be this industry specialism, although the role will give exposure to a variety of sub-areas of the power sector (including corporate M&A work, commercial regulatory, projects work and advice on a variety of power sector technologies). In this role you will be expected to have experience and knowledge in Power Projects such as nuclear, renewables and CCS, advise on corporate transactions in the power sector, provide commercial and regulatory advice to power sector utilities, participants and investors and will be expected to acquire or deepen industry specific knowledge within the team. The successful candidate will be degree educated (or equivalent), with the appropriate level of post qualification experience in ideally an energy sector background. Alternatively we will consider a background that allows for some re-skilling (e.g. Corporate/Commercial). You will have an excellent professional track record within a comparable firm and have experience in handling high value clients in major blue chip companies. Candidates should be comfortable advising on high value transactions with excellent analytical and drafting skills with the ability to translate legal theory into practical advice. Good interpersonal and consultancy skills are also vital to this role.
